One of my favorite artist, Alex Pardee, and one of my favorite tv character. A little of both world. It's a great time lapse video and for other artists, it's a great insight on the techniques involved in making of an artwork. There are times that I would stare at an artwork for a long period of time just to imagine the process involved and only to find myself clueless. But with great video like this, no need to gaze at an artwork just to figure out "how it was made" and it also helps to inspire me to try something new. Enjoy!

How did he make the yellow part become white on the Jacket part?

ReplyDeleteyeah, I was very curious about that part as well. I even paused it right at that moment but it didn't reveal anything. It looks like he just went back with a dishwasher sponge and painted the white part over.
ReplyDeleteI remember reading an article about his process. He calls it "constructive, deconstructive, and then constructive." And you can see it in his process. He first construct by applying paint and outline. He then "deconstruct" by applying a second layer of paint and pretty much cover up all the outline he did earlier...in this case, a layer of white paint to get rid of unwanted stuff. And finally, he "reconstruct" by applying the final outline and thus, the final artwork is born ;)
this guy must be insane.
